Learn Spanish Now Review:
Summary:
Learn Spanish Now is a software based Spanish course which uses the immersion approach to try to teach you Spanish. There are no actual lessons in this course, they just sort of 'throw' you in the middle of a bunch of Spanish conversations and you may find yourself overwhealmed, or even getting lost because there is no real structure. You may enjoy this course if you've already had some Spanish training and would like to experience some real world conversational examples.
Appropriate for:
-intermediate
What you get:

Course details:
Learn Spanish Now is a software based Spanish course. There are 5 modules or sections to this course: 'Theater', which displays a video player that displays sketches in which you can step through the characters' conversations; 'Reading', which displays the transcript of the sketches in Spanish allowing you to step through the text, word for word if you'd like, while viewing the English translation of the text; 'Activities', which is composed of several games designed to teach and quiz Spanish vocabulary; 'Pronounciation', which is an audio based module, designed to teach you how various words are pronounced; and finally, 'Conversation', which essentially steps you through the video segments, again, line by line, but this time allows you to act as one of the characters, and prompts you what to say, or how to respond.
Learn Spanish Now has integrated another product called 'Before You Know It' which focuses on vocabulary by using a software based flashcard approach. Learn Spanish Now probably would not be a good fit for a beginner simply because a beginner would most likely get confused and lost. None of the activities or examples cover basic grammar fundamentals such as verb forms - for example, why certain verb endings are used in certain situations and when to use certain pronouns instead of others. However, this is a very interactive course, and may be useful for an intermediate student looking to experience and interact with some real world conversational examples.
