Learning Spanish Like Crazy Review:
Summary:
Learning Spanish Like Crazy is an audio only course that focuses on real world Latin-American Spanish. The audio is high quality, easy to understand, and covers quite a bit of material. However, being that there is no study guide or additional material to supplement the audio lessons, you may have trouble following along, or simply get bored due to lack of interactivity. This is purely a "learn by listening" course.

Course details:
The Learn Spanish Like Crazy course contains 30 audio lessons, containing over 16 hours of audio, which can be downloaded in MP3 format or shipped to you on CD. There are three speakers - two male and one female. All speakers speak clearly and all lessons are very easy to follow. The pace is slow which is great for absolute beginners, but as you progress, you may notice many topics seem to drag on. The course covers most of the important topics of grammar such as correct verb forms, pronouns, adjectives, and possessives. Each lesson introduces new vocabulary to use as examples with the various topics. For example, lesson 1 covers present tense verb forms, and they use "I speak Spanish", "You speak Spanish", "They speak Spanish", etc... In lesson 3, they discuss possessives using phrases such as "my cat", "your dog" etc... This serves the dual purpose of both teaching correct grammar as well teaching commonly used nouns.
The main problems that we have with this course are that there is no visual material or interactivity to supplement the audio. Unless you purchase the upgraded 'combo package', you will not have any text based grammar lessons to learn phonetics, or how to read, write, or pronounce written Spanish words. Also, there is no interactiveness, such as excersices or games to supplement the audio, so you may get bored, or have trouble retaining everything due to lack of interest. With that said, this is a good course for those of you who want to learn purely by listening.
