The Visual Link Spanish course is a fun, interactive software based Spanish course. This course does a great job of covering the fundamentals and common phrases of Spanish exhautively and interactively. However, like many other courses, it doesn't go very far into intermediate or advanced topics.

Course details:
The Visual Link Spanish Course is primarily a software course. Although the course comes with audio CDs and a mini-manual, this material can be found in the software. The software is very easy to use and navigate. The main focus of this course revolves around teaching you how to construct sentences by disecting
them into parts called 'groups' and combining the parts using different combinations. This course also teaches you some of the most commonly used phrases used in every day speech. The course is divided in to 13 parts, each covering various real life situations such as basic needs, greetings, restaurant, and travel. Each part includes associated vocabulary games, verbal quizzes, and a multiple choice test. There is also a section which covers some basic vocabulary such as colors, numbers, days, and times. While this course does a great job of covering the fundamentals of Spanish exhautively and interactively, it doesn't cover intermediate or advanced topics. Most of the lessons only cover I, you(formal), and he/she/it verb forms. Only a couple lessons actually use the you(informal), we, and they verb forms. Also, it doesn't cover advanced verb tenses such as future, past preterite, past imperfect, etc... It does, however, include a useful audio-based pronounciation program, which covers all letters of the Spanish alphabet as well as accent rules. This course is fun and interactive, but can only realistically be used as an introduction to the Spanish language. |
